Please complete the form below to enter this 2026 creative challenge.

It is free to enter but constants MUST submit an entry form.

Create your special miracle potion – be it ‘Tincture of Cog’ or ‘Potion of Steam Beetle’- and bring the potion in its enticing bottle to the Grainstore Gallery, 9 Harbour Street, Oamaru between 10am and 11am on Sunday 31st May 2026 to be judged as ‘Snake Oil Merchant Extraordinaire’. Entrants will have an opportunity to ‘sell’ their potion so practise your banter – or get someone else to do this bit for you! Judging will be at 11am.

You will have ONE minute to pitch your potion to the gathered crowd.

Entries will be judged on:

The aesthetics of the label and packing.
The ‘pitch

First Name

Last Name

Email (for competition updates and information)

Phone (so we can contact you during the festival)

Give your entry a suitably Steampunk title

Briefly describe your Snake Oil and its curative powers – (in less than 100 words)

If not pitching your own wares, who will be your salesman extraordinaire?
